There is now a Panda Nation.

Panda Nation is our new team on Lichess: a place to enter tournaments, talk about chess, and gather the people who want to play alongside ThreeSadPandas.

Until now, this project has had games, studies, tournament marathons, blog posts, and a steadily growing collection of instructive disasters. What it did not have was a front door for other players.

Now it does.

Why a team?

Chess improvement can be solitary. You play your game, inspect the wreckage, write down the lesson, and try again. That work matters, but it is better when there are people nearby who understand why one move can occupy the rest of your afternoon.

Panda Nation gives that community a home on Lichess. The plan is simple:

  • play in team tournaments;
  • share games and ideas;
  • talk about what we are learning; and
  • make the long road toward better chess a little less lonely.

No grand manifesto. No secret opening laboratory hidden beneath the bamboo. Just a team for people who enjoy chess and want somewhere friendly to play it.

Join Panda Nation

The team is open. If that sounds like your kind of place, visit the Panda Nation team page and join us.

Bring your best games. Bring your worst games. Especially bring the games that looked fine until they very suddenly did not.

We have a team now.
